It all started in New Zealand
The original Flotech Group was founded in New Zealand in 1986 with a focus on the installation and service of equipment for natural gas refueling stations. By 1990 the company diversified into industrial technologies building on its core expertise in gas handling, heat exchange, and mass transfer.
Biogas upgrading was initially driven by desires for an eco-friendly, sustainable and economically viable vehicle fuel. In1992 the Swedish government decided to invest in biogas and in the same year Flotech installed its first upgrading plant in France. In 1994 the company opened their first European office in Stockholm.
Flotech's biogas upgrading business was rebranded Greenlane in 2004, and since then the company has emerged as a global leader in the market. The Greenlane Group is a private company owned by shareholders who are operationally involved in the business. Greenlane's headquarters are in Auckland, New Zealand, with subsidiaries in a number of European countries, as well as Canada and Australia.
